JWACA2023-037: Design Strategy of Urban Restorative Waterfront Space Guided by Biophilic Design

Abstract

Its theoretical research and application have been widely concerned by American academia. In this paper, by combing the design elements and attributes of biophilic design, the psychological mediating process of waterfront outdoor environment is explored with the help of Attention Restoration Theory (ART) and Psychoevolutionary Theory (PT),which analyses the mechanism of biophilic design path on urban restorative waterfront space; Model of Stress and Restoration (SEMSR), this paper extracts the design elements of waterfront urban environment, constructs and evaluates the design path of biological waterfront space theory, optimizes and derives the control points, It is expected to provide indepth design support based on scientific research for the integrated design of water , urban open space and architectural landscape,which provides a strategic basis for the future urban design to achieve the goal of shaping the biophilic environment.
