Abstract

Mr. Xu Anzhi has been engaged in architectural design and education for over 50 years. He served as the founding Dean of the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering at Shenzhen University, as well as Director and Chief Architect of its Design Institute. He is a National First-Class Registered Architect and a former visiting scholar at McGill University. Mr. Xu has received the honorary title of "Outstanding Contribution Expert with Over 35 Years of Service in Shenzhen’s Survey and Design Industry" and has served as Vice President of the Architectural Society of China. He has led delegations of the Architectural Society of China to participate in numerous international academic conferences and has completed a large number of renowned architectural design projects both domestically and internationally. The interview was initiated by Professor Wang Xingtián, Vice President of the World Chinese Architects Association, and conducted through video and written communication. It focused on the founding of the Association, the development of Chinese architects, and the practice of Western architecture in China. The transcript was compiled by Jia Chao and Bie Xihao, and reviewed by Mr. Xu.
