JWACA2023-053: In Memory of Mr. Pan Zuyao

Abstract

This article commemorates the life and contributions of Mr. Pan Zuyao, a prominent figure in the architectural community who passed away in August 2022. Pan was instrumental in fostering international architectural exchanges and promoting the development of Chinese architecture. He initiated the influential "Architecture Forum" series in the 1990s, which brought together leading scholars, educators, and practitioners to discuss critical issues in architecture. His efforts significantly impacted the architectural discourse in China. Additionally, Pan founded the World Chinese Architects Association (WCAA), aiming to unite Chinese architects globally and enhance their international presence. His dedication to architecture and his contributions to the profession are remembered and honored through this special tribute.
