JWACA2024-010: Progress and trend analysis of rural landscape evaluation research based on scientific knowledge mapping analysis

Abstract

Rural landscape evaluation is a process of comprehensive and systematic assessment of various landscape elements in the countryside, aiming to comprehensively understand the conditions, characteristics and problems of rural landscape, and propose corresponding improvement measures to promote the sustainable development of rural areas. The article selects 606 research articles on rural landscape evaluation included in CNKI database and Web of science database from 2000 to 2023, and conducts visual analysis through Cite Space metrological analysis software to sort out the current status of rural landscape evaluation research and explore the future trends of related research. The rural landscape evaluation at home and abroad is divided into three stages according to the research focus and the degree of development and perfection. The difference between Chinese and foreign rural landscape evaluation research is mainly reflected in: 1) the development time of rural landscape evaluation research, which started late in China; 2) the relevance of various research institutions, which needs to be strengthened; and 3) the different research focuses, with foreign countries focusing on the ecological environment and the human experience, while domestic research focuses on the evaluation system of the landscape and the corresponding practical application. The rural landscape evaluation system has gradually become complete, and the future research trend mainly focuses on the deepening of the detailed research field of rural landscape evaluation and the strengthening of interdisciplinary integration ability. The aim is to summarise more than 20 years of research on rural landscape evaluation and to provide a reference basis for future research.
