The spread of globalization trend and urban fringe would continuously change the nature of the land around the
cultural heritage, which greatly affects the core resources and the surroundings. The ancillary landscape of the
cultural heritage ontology usually has a smaller scope or is difficult to define the value of the heritage, but as a
part of the setting, it provides protection for core resources from the encroachment and utilization of the modern
land. From the perspectives of the concept and factors structures of the cultural heritage setting, the paper puts
forward three scales on the level of cultural heritage protection landscape planning: the core area reflecting the
real scale, the coordination area of collaboration and cooperation and the transit area concerned with the tour
process and quality. Taking Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest as an instance, the paper further discusses the
specific practice methods and how to coordinate with the locality to form the consistent planning objectives, and
the special operational suggestions of cultural heritage protection from the perspective of the landscape are
ultimately formed.
