JAUE2020-007: Comparison of the Spatial Pattern Features on New-Hangzhou style dwellings and new Guanzhong dwellings

Abstract

With the rapid growing of economy, the countryside has modernized a lot and changed a lot. The traditional dwellings all over China are not adapted to this change and are dying out. Most of the new dwellings have lost their local characteristics and become homogenized. To solve this problem, Hangzhou and Guanzhong has made great efforts to develop new rural construction in recent years, gradually changing its form to fit the new era.This paper obtained data through field surveys, interviews and mapping. The author made a comparison of NewHangzhou style dwellings and new Guanzhong dwellings from the following aspects:courtyard form, combination form and street space. Through analysis, this study found out the the difference between two kinds of dwellings. Through the learning of each other building style, the writer provided suggestions on residential pattern for the future development of countryside in China.
