On the assumption of a disaster, we have developed a water supply emergency equipment to be attached to the existing facilities. On 26 June 2010, in order to be able to use this equipment, we have installed this equipment to the water-receiving tank in Tohoku Bunka Gakuen University. Great East Japan Earthquake occurred on March 11 2011, the water supply system of all of Sendai city stopped. From the next day, using this equipment, we supplied emergency drinking water to the neighborhood of our university. From this experience, in this paper, we have investigated the possibility that the water-receiving tank of the dwelling house buildings can be used as a water sources. As a result, we have found that the water-receiving tank can be utilized effectively as a water source in a disaster.
