At present, it is important to realize evidence-based Machizukuri (Japanese approach to urban planning) through digital transformations. In previous research, we have presented an overview of an architectural design for an area management platform for realizing the “super smart cities” of Society 5.0. To that end, we proposed a platform consisting of three layers: “physical things,” “human beings,” and “social and economic activities.” Subsequently, we organized the basic ideas regarding the construction and utilization of the three layers. In this study, we collected and analyzed data regarding the Minato Mirai 21 District in Yokohama City of Japan and attempted to build and utilize the platform. We introduced a basic construction method for the three layers, noted the results obtained upon collecting and analyzing human flow data (the foundation of the platform), and organized an approach for considering the use cases of this platform.
