Abstract

Recently, as the size of buildings has become more complicated, the risk of disaster has increased, and performance-based design is being implemented accordingly. In Korea, fire safety evaluation is performed by conducting fire and evacuation simulations in performance-based design. Generally, it is applied according to the scenarios presented in the standard when the simulation is carried out. However, the scenarios presented in the standard are written in the context of the fire situation, so the consideration of the evacuation situation is not sufficient. The purpose of this study is to develop evacuation scenarios considering both fire and evacuation simulation scenarios, as well as evacuation disturbances and impossible situations, which are used to evaluate the safety of buildings in performance-based design.
First, in this study, the relevant scenarios were organized through the analysis of domestic and foreign standards and literature. Second, the evacuation situation was derived according to the fire scenario selection standard. Third, seven scenarios were derived based on evacuation situations. Evacuation scenarios will be added later, and the resulting scenarios will be verified through experiments or expert advice. This study is distinct from occupant behavior scenarios, which focus on the evacuation simulation input values.
