Sludge drying reed beds is regarded as a new technology of sludge treatment that combines conventional sludge drying bed and constructed wetland. In this paper, excess activated sludge were stabilized in the sludge drying reed beds. The study lasted for four years, including three years of feeding period and one year resting period. PCR-DGGE technology was used to examine the bacterial community structure variation of sludge during restingĀ
period. The results showed that there were obvious differences in denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis of bacterial community. The dominant bacterial community in the sludge mainly changed with the different time of sludge stabilization. In the process of sludge stabilization, bacterial community diversity and evenness increased during plant growing period, root activity of plant could affect the activity of surroundings bacterial community
