JAUE2017-098: Study on Operation of Distributed Energy System in Kitakyushu Science and Research Park

Abstract

With the increasing demand of energy, the distributed energy system (DES), which with high efficiency of
energy utilization and low environmental load, has been recognized by the society. The Kitakyushu Science and
Research Park (KSRP) has been installed a distributed energy system which use the gas engine and full cell as the
power generations in 2001. Now, the device of DES has run 15 years, it has been closed to the design life. The
distributed energy system in Kitakyushu Science Research Park includes the fuel cell, gas engine and the solar cell.
Because of the lack of the solar energy cell data, in this research, the gas engine and fuel cell will be the main
object. This paper analysis the operation status and power generation situation of gas engine and fuel cell are
presented.
