Abstract

Resource Circulation House is a kind of housing system aiming at durability, resource recycle and circulation, reduction of energy consumption and efficient use of energy. To confront the challenges of environmental issues and to achieve sustainable development in housing industry, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan started “Technology Development Project of Resource Circulation House” from 2000. And research institutions in enterprises and universities also conducted some technology research projects to provide effective accesses to the design and construction of Resource Circulation House. Nowadays,Resource Circulation House and related housing industry in Japan has reached the world’s advanced level in the fields such as structure technology research, standardized components production, intelligent technology, quality control and performance evaluation.
In this paper, we made a comprehensive introduction to the design methods of Resource Circulation House in Japan. Firstly, we made a brief introduction to the design principles of Resource Circulation House, as well as its design flow and evaluation procedure. Secondly, we made a summary of the design criteria and evaluation targets in three points from different perspectives. Thirdly, we introduced the forecast evaluation methods and its tools, to make it clear about how to predict and guarantee the resource circulation performance of the houses. At last, we briefly summarized the features of the design methods of Resource Circulation House.
