Abstract

The degradation effect of reactive brilliant blue(KN-R) in aqueous solution by different Fenton system was studied. The effects of pH and the initial concentration of Fe(II) and H2O2 on the photodegradation of KN-R were investigated. Under certain conditions, KN-R removal rate reached 95.6% within 20 minutes. It was found that the main degradation pathway in the system is the radical reaction. The contributions of different mechanisms to degradation were: radical reactions accounted 88.8%, the reaction of H2O2accounted 10.0%, the reaction of Fe (II) accounted 0.6%,and photolysis reaction accounted 0.6%.
