jaue2021-053: Research on Effectiveness of "Annual Feedback Report" Using New Type HEMS

Abstract

In recent years, the increasing trend of the energy consumption in the household sector has resulted in the
attentions of HEMS (Home Energy Management System) as an energy saving measure in the household. However,
HEMS mainly provides on the energy information and the information such as the indoor environment is not
displayed so much thus the users tend not to continue using it.
Therefore, we develop the system that visualizes the energy and the indoor-outdoor environments. According to
the past research, we confirmed the behavioral changes of the subjects by the system and clarified the improvement
effects of the indoor environment and the energy saving effects.
In this research, we have created the feedback reports for the system users by utilizing the questionnaires and the
system of the long-term data. Then, these functions promote the changes in the consciousness and the behavior of
the system users thus confirmed the indoor improvement effects and the energy saving effects. These reports have
been highly evaluated by the subjects and some of the houses underwent the heat insulation repair works. In addition,
many households have been confirmed getting the energy saving effects.
