JWACA2023-038: Investigation and Research on the Soundscape of Binhai Public Space —— Taking Qingdao City as an Example
Keywords:
Coastal public space, soundscape, perception evaluationAbstract
The coastal public space is an important part of the environmental quality of the coastal city. At present, the research on the coastal public space mostly focuses on the visual aspect, but pays less attention to the auditory aspect. The purpose of this research is to conduct a preliminary investigation on the current situation of the soundscape of coastal public spaces. Taking the coastal public space along the coastline of Qingdao as an example, people’s perception and evaluation of the soundscape of the coastal public space and its potential influencing factors are explored through questionnaires. The results show that: (1) The natural-style coastal public space has the highest degree of satisfaction with the soundscape and the artificial-style one is the lowest. (2) Pleasant, energetic, and calm soundscapes will improve satisfaction ratings. (3) The acoustic factors that affect the perception of the soundscape are mainly natural sounds and crowd sounds, and the nonacoustic factors are the age, sound sensitivity, and education level of the respondent. The research results can provide a theoretical reference for the optimal design of the soundscape of the coastal public space.
