The Village Hall of Baiyanqian in Fujian Province is a multifunctional community center designed to address the challenges of rural depopulation and the lack of elderly care facilities. The project repurposes a dilapidated primary school into a comprehensive facility that includes offices, meeting spaces, exhibition areas, and elderly care units. The design leverages local materials and construction techniques, reflecting the region's architectural heritage. The building's layout is inspired by the traditional Hakka "enclosure houses," creating a central courtyard that fosters community interaction. The project aims to maximize the use of limited funds by integrating various functions into a single, efficient structure.
