Abstract

Recently, there has been a growing movement toward area energy management (AEM) for decarbonization. However, building AEM requires large-scale development, and examining the feasibility of building AEM in existing urban areas is a demanding task. In this study, we focus on a customer in a district heating and cooling district and examine the energy conservation potential of changing the air conditioning operation method. The two methods to be studied are rotational shutdown operation and changing the temperature setting of air conditioners. The analysis method is to obtain the amount of heat and cold consumption and the amount of electricity consumption by air conditioning power from the BEMS data of the target building, and to study energy efficiency and conservation in the implementation year in the summer and winter. In addition, correlations will be made between the outside temperature data and each element, and the validity of the analyzed data will be confirmed. The results show that, first of all, the rotational shutdown operation reduced electricity consumption by about 10%. In addition, the change of air conditioning temperature setting showed a large decrease in both cooling and electricity consumption during the summer, but only in electricity consumption during the winter.
