Abstract

Visible fire alarm is used by people with hearing impairments or in places where it is impossible to transmit a fire alarm due to surrounding noise in the event of a fire. It can be said that the visibility of a visual alarm increases when it quickly and easily conveys the meaning of evacuation to evacuees. In this research, we explored ways to increase attention by changing the color of the light source. The entry time was measured for the white color specified by NFPC203[1] and NFTC203[2] and the safety color red, which has the meaning of firefighting equipment with safety signs[3]. The results showed that red had a shorter entry time than white, a difference that was statistically significant. In addition, the opinions of the experiment participants were collected through a questionnaire survey, and the area that showed the greatest change was color. As a result of actual experiments and a questionnaire survey, we found that changing the color of the light source to red attracted more attention.
