The energy saving standards for residential buildings were promulgated in January 2013, and the outer layer performance and airtightness of buildings are being improved. However, it has been pointed out that increasing airtightness by using only dry materials leads to condensation due to high humidity in the summer and excessive dryness due to heating in the winter. The aim of this analysis is to be clarified humidity conditioning performance of building materials to regulate an indoor humidity using the simulation software “THERB” which has complete HAM features (heat and moisture transfer and airflow) including principles of moisture transfer within walls. As the results, the effects of the building materials to regulate an indoor humidity to prevent humidity increase in rainy season and over dryness during heating in winter on living room are clarified.
