JAUE2020-029: Towards a Healthy Community——a Survey of Old Communities in Shenyang, China

Abstract

Based on the survey of Shenyang's old community, this paper explores the existing problems of the community by using ArcGIS, Zhongzhi, and other analysis software, along with questionnaires, according to the basic theory and evaluation standard of a healthy community. This paper puts forward five renewal design strategies, including improving the resilience of community protection, optimizing the community supply service, enhancing the quality of the community for the elderly, improving the community public space, and reasonably planning community traffic. These strategies aim to revitalize the old community in Shenyang and fundamentally improve the quality of life for its residents.
