JAUE2022-059: Renewal Strategy of the Healing Environment in the Old Community Based on the Perception of the Elderly

Abstract

Urban development in China has gradually turned from incremental expansion to a new stage of stock optimization, and urban renewal is a new path of urban development. Among them, the transformation of old residential areas is the key means of urban renewal. At the same time, China has entered an aging society, and the degree of aging is also deepening. Under the background of implementing the national strategy of actively responding to the aging population，it is an inevitable choice for the future urban renewal to create a livable, healthy and sustainable environment for the elderly. Through the field survey of the built environment in four old residential areas and the distribution of questionnaires, this study obtains and evaluate the elderly's perception of the environment. Then, this paper provides the optimization strategy based on the healing environment theory from three aspects: road system, green landscape and activity site, in order to provide suggestions for the renovation process of old community.
