JAUE2018-064 A Study on the Actual Condition of Safety Management inNeighborhood Living Facilities and the Perception of Fire Safety Managers

Abstract

The reason why the recent fire in Jecheon has caused big casualties was the emergency exit was used like a warehouse, so it was difficult for people to recognize the emergency exit, and there was no staff at some floors to guide evacuation. Above all, the sprinkler system didn’t operate, causing even greater damage. Because neighborhood living facilities are frequently used as facilities that are closely related to the daily lives of people, firefighting facilities are more important than anything else. In addition, the role of the fire safety manager in maintaining and managing these facilities is important. Therefore, in this study, we will check the status of firefighting facilities at the neighborhood living facilities and conduct a survey the safety awareness of fire safety managers for investigating safety management status of the neighborhood living facilities. First, we reviewed the relevant laws and made a checklist to check the status of the firefighting facilities in the neighborhood living facilities. At the same time, a questionnaire was prepared to investigate the training and safety awareness of fire safety managers. And, the field survey was conducted using the completed checklist and questionnaire.
