In suburban cities, an aging society with a low birthrate is regarded as a serious social problem these days, which caused the decline of public transportation. In the near future of new development site, young household will increase in the area and the household will grow old gradually. Therefore it is important to prepare from now, for the introduction of various kinds of traffic majors expected in the future.
In this research, we predict the future change of family structure and traffic demand in new development site in suburban cities from 2012 to 2055 As a result, in 2055, old household will account for 55 percent. Next, by using the future change of family structure and "Parson Trip Investigation in Tokyo", we predict the future of traffic demand in the area from 2012 to 2055. Then, we propose new traffic measures, for example, “Bus Sharing” which people share the bus by distinction between commuting and private. At the end, through the analysis of the future traffic demand, we propose the new traffic measures and verify the validity of it.
