Abstract

In this research, wooden structural connection technology is developed by an experiment. Japanese cedar thinned timber is used in this experiment. Wood screw connection is available to create curved wall and expand the range of architectural design. In order to connect wood components well enough, it is necessary to infiltrate glue by pressure two timber components. In this experiment, firstly, we built square frames which consisting four wood components. After that, we connected those frames with wood screws and glue. It was experimented by changing the types and lengths of the screw to create the angle of walls. Finally, we checked the gap between frames and evaluated the grade difference appeared in adhesiveness. As a result, we found the method to improve the adhesiveness by drill a hole in timber beforehand. We certified the screw of a square socket is very effective for wooden construction. By developing the technology of wooden structure and using much wood effectively as building materials, carbon dioxide can be fixed. This research contributes to reduction of environmental impact.
