Abstract

In modern Japan, while the number of carpenters is decreasing as the population declines, new residential
construction starts has a tendency to increase; therefore, we need to compensate for the shortage of labor in the
building industry. This study was performed to develop the construction method of wooden architecture with
articulated arm robot. The production model that can be made even by robot was adopted a four-and-a-half tea house
designed to be made even by amateurs in past research because it is difficult for the robot to build a conventional
house due to the size and the construction method. This is the method that people laminate woods of 105 square
while bonding it with glue and nail. In this research, we conducted a simulation of the construction with only glue
as a basic research. Using the software for simulation, we compared the house made by robot and the one made by
some amateurs. As a result, it was found that the wall, floor and roof of the tea house completed in 7days was
completed in about 1 hour. In the future, we can be going to build our houses in a few days.
