Abstract

With the trend of urban construction emphasizing "people-oriented" and "high-quality development" requirements, especially in the face of the unique needs of the aging and post-epidemic era, it is essential to meet the growing and rich needs of residents for a better life based on the model of daily life circle. The research and application on daily living circles originated in Japan and later spread to Korea and Taiwan area. This paper summarises the similarities and differences between the two countries in terms of the concept of life circles and the actual groups of residents through a comparative analysis of the current situation and the profile of residents in China and Japan. Although the two countries have different classification methods, length of walking tours, and target groups, the basic concept of "access all the services needed for life by walking" is the same. Japan focuses mainly on providing facilities for the elderly, especially medical and care facilities. At the same time, China still considers the provision of facilities for all age groups due to the low level of aging
