JWACA2023-004: Spatial Justice in Urban Renewal

Abstract

This article discussed the concept of "spatial justice" in the context of urban renewal in China, emphasizing the need to balance social inequalities and integrate architectural heritage with contemporary life. The author, Wang Hui, explored how urban planners and architects could address social issues through thoughtful design, using examples from projects in Beijing and Shenyang. The article highlighted the importance of preserving historical buildings while creating inclusive public spaces that benefit diverse communities.
