JWACA2023-042: Satisfaction Evaluation of Waterfront Greenways Based on Semantic Analysis Method: A Case Study of Hunhe River in Shenyang

As an important part of urban green space system, waterfront greenways are the key area to improve the quality of urban ecological environment. By the way the diverse ecological community can effectively control soil erosion and improve the microclimate regulation ability of urban surface. Existing studies suggest that there are distinct types of waterfront greenways in the high-density urban space, but the landscape quality of waterfront greenways is different. Therefore, this study apply to semantic differential (SD) and Satisfaction evaluation method to evaluate public perception and preferences about the waterfront greenway on the south bank of the Hunhe River in Shenyang.The results indicated that the factors impacted public satisfaction of waterfront greenway contain artificial landscape characteristic, plant landscape characteristic and water landscape characteristic. Quality of hard landscaping, peaceful degree and river quality are the main factors effecting satisfaction. Through the correlation analysis of landscape features in SD and user satisfaction evaluation, the demands of residents for waterfront greenway is summarized, which provides reference for landscape optimization of waterfront greenway.
