Abstract

Thatched cottage that a building it's roof made from rice straw in Korea and this result in fire occurring and spreading ex-tremely easily. Designated as cultural asset, thatched cottage has attracted plenty of visitors. It is possible to induce more misfire and arson. In addition, culture asset will loss for spreading over whole region in fire due to thatched cottage from a colony. For this study, Yang-dong Village is used as model. We will analyze the fire behavior and give some effective pre-vention measures for thatched cottage. By using FDS emergency equipment and fire protected area will be set through de-ducted heat release rage and sphere of influence around the fire.
