JAUE2017-059: Study on Passive Energy-Saving Building Measures of Traditional Dwellings in Gansu Province

The local inhabitants of Gansu, in the struggle against the harsh local natural environment, have formed a passive
architecture suitable for local topography, climate and materials, and are still used today. Based on the investigation
and study of residential buildings in 7 cities in Gansu Province, this paper summarizes the passive energy-saving
construction measures of Gansu traditional dwellings under the regional background through analysis and
classification. With the distribution of residential settlements, architectural form, architectural shape and other
aspects of the analysis as well as passive energy saving measures in Gansu, the passive technology promotes the
integration of the local traditional residential architecture, in order to improve the living environment and building
comfort of Gansu residents to provide beneficial reference.
