As the building is larger and more complicated, it varies that the shape of intersection which is needed for an evacuee to make a decision at the evacuation process in the event of fire. Accordingly, occupants who are not familiar with the indoor spaces frequently experience a failure of way-finding in the evacuation process. Also, it is very important to analyse the egress behaviour characteristic depending on the angle of Y-shaped intersection of the building to evaluate occupant’s life safety. Changes of walking speed determined by the decision-making time were also measured. Thus, it provides the basic data necessary for performing egress simulation modelling and it deduces Required Safe Egress Time (RSET) of the result of evacuation simulation in reliability.
