JAUE2014-021 Study on present situation of rail transit system in Dalian

Abstract

Urban rail transport is one of the effective measures to solve the urban traffic congestion in major cities at home and abroad,which plays a vital role in modern big cities. Development of urban rail transit system significantly improved the rapid development of urban economy and the improvement of the ecological environment, realizing the union of economic, social and environmental benefits. It can meet the needs of economic, social and urban development, highlighting the city's features and functions accelerating the modernization of the building, and have a positive impact on the urban layout and landscape, environmental protection, public housing construction and other residential patterns and lifestyles. With sustained and rapid socioeconomic development and the increasingly fast urbanization process in Dalian, The roads are heavily congested. The contradiction between urbanization development and urban infrastructure  especially transport infrastructure is very serious. Developing rail transport is a good move to ease traffic congestion.
