During the 20th century, research on Healthy City began Europe. The concept of Healthy City was introduced into China in 1994. The study of Healthy City has entered the middle stage with the promotion of China Healthy strategy in 2013. The outbreak of COVID-19 has stimulated the need for infectious disease control and the system planning of Healthy City in 2020. In this paper, the research progress of Healthy City in 21 years (from 2000-2021) was based on 2310 literature in the database of CNKI. By using the CiteSpace visualization software, we analyzed the quantity of published papers, study authors, institutions, keywords and literature co-occurrence knowledge atlas. The results showed that: (a) The research of Healthy City has received wide attention from various fields. The quantity of published papers on Healthy City was rising year by year from 2000 to 2021.Especially, it increased significantly due to the influence of the COVID-19 in 2020; (b) “Healthy City”, “Community”, “Residential landscape” and “Landscape design” were the highest frequency co-occurrence keywords on research of Healthy City in recent years; (c) Institutions and authors present multidisciplinary fields of joint research, but there was less cooperation between them.
