JWACA2023-045: The First Exploration on the Spatial Form of Traditional Settlement in the View of Space Syntax

Abstract

The paper selects the traditional settlement–Jishan Village, located in the suburb of Yong’an City in the central mountain area of Fujian, as the carrier of study, starts from the spatial growing form of village in four historical stages, uses the axis analysis method of space syntax theory, and objectively analyzes the change characteristics of the internal structure of village space, as well as its interactive relation and influence with human activities by quantitatively describing the syntactic axis map of the spatial structure of village roads.
