Abstract

The renovation of existing housing is the only way of sustainable development, which has a very important meaning and function to our country. The paper reviews the development of the existing housing renewal, dating back to the establishment of China, as well as the actively explore by some cities on their way of developing. Further more, it also points out the issues and challenges that they have encountered with, in order to provide reference for the residential renewal in the future.
