The objective of this study is to propose a method that can tangibly forecast electricity consumption distribution of urban residential buildings via spatial information. Per capita and per area size electricity consumption units that can be combined with spatial information are applied to the method employed in this study. A combination with geometrical information of around 180,000 residential buildings in large cities verified strikingly different characteristics in electricity consumption based on the unit applied. According to the analysis, the output based on applying the unit per capita and actual volume of supply resulted in a similar consumption (approx. 5% error rate), which indicates a significant result.
