jaue2016116: An Analysis on Research Trend of UAV Utilization in Korea

Abstract

UAV market is growing vastly and accordingly, related research is also growing vastly. UAV market is also growing vastly in Korea and accordingly, related research has been actively proceeding. In order to prevent the duplication of research investment and develop required technology at this point that the related research is being implemented rapidly, it is essential to do the trend research of the UAV related utilization technology.Also, to create a right process goal for the future research analyzing the technology trend is necessary. However, there is no research going on that analyzes the utilizing technology trend in Korea. Therefore, this study is to analyze the research trend of the UAV utilization by reviewing the UAV utilization related studies in Korea.Also, it tries to propose the development plan of the future UAV’s utilization technology by using analyzed research trend of the UAV utilization. This study has analyzed 106 research papers published in Korea in order to analyze the research trend of the UAV utilization in Korea. While it’s a trend that the UAV utilization related papers published have exploded since 2010, 76.2% of authors was belong to university and when it comes to the UAV utilization area, it was found to be concentrated in terrain measurement and disaster detection sector.Also, determined that there’s a need to expand the utilization field through interdisciplinary research with various academic disciplines. This study is expected to provide a utilization in performing the UAV related research in the future as basic information on the research trend of the UAV utilization in Korea.
